Mobile Help: iOS Audio Issues

Some iPad/iPhone attendees can see video but hear no audio. This is a known issue on RingCentral Events for iOS.

What's happening on iOS?

  • RingCentral recommends Chrome or Edge. Support for Safari is limited.
  • All iOS browsers use Apple's Safari engine. Thus, using Chrome on iOS does not avoid the limitation.

Recommended solutions

  • For the best experience, join from a laptop/desktop using Google Chrome.
  • If you must use a phone/tablet, install the RingCentral Events app:
  • After installation, open your Magic Link email on your device to launch directly into the event.
  • However, the mobile app has limitations:
    • You cannot go on stage (no Studio/backstage access or screen sharing) from mobile.
    • Some chat threads and Q&A replies may not be visible.
    • Networking “Speed Meetings” are not supported.

Fixing “no sound” on iOS

  • Increase volume and disable Silent Mode.
  • Check Bluetooth; connected headphones/speakers may capture audio.
  • iOS Settings → RingCentral Events → allow Microphone/Speaker permissions. If needed, revoke and re-grant permissions.
  • Force close and restart the RingCentral Events app.
  • Ensure AirPlay or “Screen Mirroring” is off (these can redirect audio).
